Columbia Community Exchange of Howard County

Wanted: CCE Members to Share Skills at Time Bank SkillShare Fair on March 25!

Columbia Community Exchange is celebrating 10 years of time banking in Howard County!  We are hosting a SkillShare to promote our time bank’s talents to the entire community.  Held in partnership with Transition Howard County, the SkillShare exemplifies how we connect with the sharing economy through time banking.

How to become a presenter:

We are looking for CCE members to present 15-minute short sessions (repeated 3 times) on a quick, teachable skill OR to host an information table answering questions on a specific topic.

Examples of short, shareable skills for a presentation would be things like: introduction to knitting, repairing a lamp, and making bows or homemade greeting cards. Information table topics could be on broader skill-sets such as organization tips, rain barrel benefits, plumbing basics, jam-making or Twitter 101.

Most of all, we are looking for skills that people WANT to learn -- think about what will draw a crowd.

Here is the form to submit your proposal to either give a short presentation (quick teachable skill or demonstration) or host an information table (more in depth discussion):

We need your proposals by March 17.

The CCE event team will accept 16 proposals, so get yours in early and please fully fill out all the fields in the submission form. The more detailed, the better.  We are looking for a wide variety of skills for this first offering and plan on having skillshare events on specific themes in future years.

If accepted, you will earn three CCE hours for your presentation/tabling time at the event itself plus two hours for your preparation time.

Save the date and plan to attend either as a presenter or learner.  RSVP to or 410-884-6121.
